CarneySweeney is acting as Bute Energy's Consenting Lead on its renewable energy project located southwest of Llanerfyl and west of Cefn Coch in Powys, Mid-Wales. The proposal includes up to 25 wind turbines generating 165MW of clean, green energy, enough to power the equivalent of 144,000 households a year.
The project responds to the Climate Emergency, while supporting the Welsh Government's target for electricity to be 100% renewable by 2035.
The project will also deliver significant benefits to the local community, including an annual Community Benefit Fund in the region of £1.2m based on current designs.
The project is a Development of National Significance (DNS). This means an application will be made to Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW) which will make a recommendation to Welsh Ministers.
