Bridgwater Hospital, Somerset
Gerald Sweeney led the planning application and associated sequential assessment that delivered the new Bridgwater Community Hospital. The planning application required the justification for the release of protected green wedge land on the edge of Bridgwater. The building replaces the previous listed building hospital in the Town Centre. The new hospital has 30 inpatient beds (18 of which are in single en-suite rooms), birthing, day treatment, imaging, outpatient and therapies departments, an endoscopy suite and minor injuries unit.
